it's been a long time...sorry i left you

That is right folks...it has been a long time and I have been gone too long. A whole lot has happened since the last time I've been here but I really don't feel like filling in all that space so i'm going to pick it up right here. I'm in school again. New semester. All art classes. I'm taking Design I, Printmaking I, Sculpture I, and Art with a Camera. The classes are alright. At first I thought that I was getting spread too thin and I was having trouble being creative in all my classes. Now I'm doing better. Design is pretty good and i'm doing a project that is something like a mixed media collage. Photocopies connected by drawing techniques and rendering textures. It's fun, I like it and I hope it turns out well. Printmaking is a class that I'm really enjoying. The only thing is that I'm having some difficulty making the prints come out exactly the same. We're doing some kind of collage plate and then inking them, putting it under the press and presto!...prints. I think it's cool and I can't wait to get into the engraving process and the intaglio. Sculpture is fun. Eric (my brother) and our friend Tyson are in my class so it's always interesting and usually funny. We finished up making face masks this past week and as soon as i can i'll have pictures of them. We're working on a new project where we make low, or bas relief sculptures. This will be a little challenging because of creating depth and perspective in such a small space. But I sure it will turn out okay. Also having to do with sculpture, my professor in that class also teaches at another art school and he conducts workshops every so often. I'm currently attending one of the metal sculpture workshops. We get to learn to cut and weld metal pieces to make a large outdoor metal sculpture. I'm having a good time. Art with a camera is a different story. I enjoy taking pictures and things like that, but I don't like the teacher. But I'll get back to that...I gotta eat.

i haven't been here in a while cuz i haven't had pictures to put up or anything to talk about. i've been busy with school. and i've been doing a terrible job at being a good student. i'm really mad at myself for letting it get out of hand. i had control of the situation and it was within me to make the most of this semester. it wasn't a hard semester by any means...i just didn't give it my best effort and for that i am ashamed. but on a lighter note...the semester is almost over. anyway here are some pictures from the annual valencia community college student art exhibition. i'll be putting some art work pics as soon as i take them.

the other day my family and i went to Ohana, a restaurant at the Polynesian resort at Disney. We were celebrating my parents 25th wedding anniversary and my uncle's birthday. It was my mom, dad, tito dic, tito mag, eric and me. Good times.

here is some of my self portrait drawings from my class. they were all full class drawings. the one with the hood was an hour and a half long. i did it in conte crayon and ink wash. the one with my finger in my mouth was in pastel. that took like 3 hours. the mean looking one was done in charcoal. that one was cool...and took 3 hours.

Oh man Zo...You so SeXaaaaY!!! I really, really wish that I could have been there. I am sooo proud of you. I know that this has been a tough school semester. It's hard to concentrate. Also, I'm sorry if it ever sounds like I'm nagging or whatever, but it's just becaus I care and I know that you're smarter than the average smiley face
